Boards
Create, organize, star, and control access to boards.
A board is a single project or pipeline. It holds lists (columns) of cards.
Creating a board
- 1Select the workspace the board belongs in.
- 2Click + Create board (sidebar or dashboard).
- 3Name it, choose a type (Kanban or Scrum) and its visibility, then create.
Board type
Pick a Kanban board for simple, continuous flow, or a Scrum board to add sprints, epics and story points. You can switch a board’s type later from its menu — see the Agile: sprints & epics guide for the full workflow.
Visibility
| Visibility | Who can open it |
|---|---|
| Workspace | Every member of the workspace. |
| Private | Only the people explicitly added to the board. It shows a lock in the sidebar for everyone else. |
Cover
Give a board a cover from its Edit board dialog — a solid colour, an uploaded image, or a free photo you search for. The cover becomes the board’s background (with a soft tint of your theme over it, so it stays easy to read) and shows on the board’s tile on the dashboard.
Everyday board actions
- Star a board (★) to pin it to the top of the sidebar — this is personal to you.
- Reorder boards in the sidebar by dragging them into the order you want.
- Rename, set a cover, or change settings from the board’s menu (if you have permission).
- Lock sorting (admins only, from Edit board) to freeze list and/or card order — while locked, no one can drag lists or move cards. Unlock to rearrange again.
- Archive a board to remove it from view without deleting its data; admins can restore it later from Settings → Workspaces → Recently deleted.
- Open Archived cards from the board to review or restore cards you’ve archived.

Common questions
Can I change a board’s type later?
Yes — switch between Kanban and Scrum from the board’s menu; your lists and cards stay put.
How do I hide a board from most of the team?
Set its visibility to Private and add only the members who should see it.
